What we do

Practice Areas

We work across transactional and contentious matters, combining generalist transactional expertise with depth in a number of specialist areas.

01

M&A / Private Equity Law

We regularly advise on M&A, asset purchases, joint ventures, post-acquisition restructuring, slump sales, merger control and competition law. With a diverse network across multiple jurisdictions, we offer the ability to advise on, structure and manage cross-border deals.

Our lawyers have extensive experience advising on private equity & venture capital transactions, having advised investors and investee companies, investment banks, management teams and employees on complex investment deals in India and abroad.

02

Dispute Resolution

While our Dispute Resolution practice is conceived of as a general offering, we tend to specialise in shareholder disputes, insolvency matters, corporate governance, employment & labour disputes, intellectual property disputes, and technology, data protection & media disputes.

Our team represents clients in trial, appellate and regulatory courts and tribunals across the country, and in domestic and international arbitral fora. We also assist clients with pre-litigation strategy and risk mitigation.

03

Privacy and Data Protection

Our Privacy and Data Protection practice focuses on the evolving technological, business and legal issues relating to the privacy and security of data. With India making rapid strides towards digitisation and a robust legal framework for privacy and data protection, businesses face an unprecedented need to upgrade their privacy standards to avoid potential liabilities and meet mandatory compliance requirements.

Our team adopts an innovative approach, engaging with clients on key compliance requirements — including awareness and teach-in sessions — and on the implementation of customised solutions.

04

Tax

We advise clients on all aspects of tax, including:

  • Tax Disputes & Investigations — from pre-emptive advice to litigation, with experts dedicated full-time to resolving disputes with tax authorities.
  • Trade & Customs — extensive experience across international trade law, including customs, trade defence, export controls and sanctions.
  • Employee Incentives & Benefits — designing, drafting and implementing incentive arrangements for a wide range of clients.
  • White Collar Crime — combining tax-crime lawyers, financial and forensic-crime specialists and behavioural-change consultants across all areas of financial crime.
05

  • Advising potential acquirers or sellers of distressed businesses or assets — through statutory insolvency, pre-packaged sales or financially distressed situations.
  • Advising directors and officers on the risks arising in periods of financial uncertainty or actual or impending liquidation.
